Hello, I am a UBC graduate with a BSc in Animal Biology. Is it possible to sneak into the Sept, Middle School 12 month program. I have met the necessary requirements.

Hi
I am interested in the PDP program. I went to BC college of teachers and they have told me that I need to apply to the PDP program at either SFU or UBC.
I am wondering if I can apply to the PDP at UBC after the BC college of teachers has done the assessment for me!
Thank you
Ash

Hi Ash, you may certainly apply to the Teacher Updating program after you’ve received the assessment results from the BCCT. Please contact Gary Rupert, Program Coordinator, for more information: http://www.teach.educ.ubc.ca/contact/directory.html. He oversees the program. Details about the Teacher Updating program can be found here: http://www.teach.educ.ubc.ca/updating/index.html.

Hi. I am a graduate of SFU. Is it possible to use my BA degree in English from SFU to satisfy the application requirements for the teaching program?

Hi Erwin, you may apply your BA in English degree from SFU to satisfy the academic requirements for the BEd progrma at UBC. The academic requirements for the Secondary program are detailed here: http://www.teach.educ.ubc.ca/stepstoapply/requirements/academic_requirements.html. Please note that academic requirements are dependent on the teaching specialization(s) that you wish to present. It is possible to apply for a Major in English without a second teaching specialization (e.g. a Concentration in another specialization).
